Coodanup College views student behaviour in educational terms and have clear strategies to prevent and manage this. We recognise school behaviour issues are often a symptom of a broader problem and regularly enlist support from Student Services, external agencies and families. This presentation details the extensive Student Support structures developed at Coodanup College, following the Tiers of Intervention and bespoke pathways for students throughout their high school journey, from learning and behaviour engagement programs to academic pathways.
Presenter Bio:
Lindsey Taylor: Lindsey has had a varied career in education spanning 26 years across the UK and now West Australia. Lindsey has extensive experience in Student Services across multiple schools in the South Metro Region and has a particular interest in student engagement and wellbeing. Lindsey is particularly passionate about young people finding meaningful pathways beyond school. Lindsey is currently a Student Services Manager at Coodanup College focussed on senior school years of 10, 11 and 12.
Maddie DeBeer: Education is Maddie’s second career after an interesting career in Psychology in South Africa. Maddie’s passion is student wellbeing and engagement, and she is particularly skilled in winning over difficult families to support a student’s progress at school. Maddie is currently a Student Services Manager at Coodanup College focussed on the middle years of 8 and 9.
